Dear Friend,

We have much to celebrate this week!

I am humbled and honored that the voters of Pennsylvania's 13th District chose to send me back to Washington for a third term. I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of the people of Northeast Philadelphia and Montgomery County as we meet the challenges ahead.

I am so grateful for the thousands of volunteers and donors whose generosity made this victory possible. Your contributions of time and resources enabled us to reach out to voters and win big!

So, thank you so very much! We did this together!

We have much to celebrate here and around the country. Pennsylvania's big vote margin helped ensure Barack Obama's huge win. We are all now able to look forward to the much needed change President Obama will bring to our great nation -- working with expanded Democratic majorities in the U.S. House and Senate. And, it has been a special pleasure for me to congratulate the eight new Democratic women entering the House in my role as the Women LEAD chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Here in Southeastern Pennsylvania, we won several closely contested State House races, with candidates who ran strong campaigns and who harnessed the tremendous energy for Democrats this year.

But elections are not just about winning, they are about bringing people together to change our communities for the better. Our country faces tremendous challenges -- from putting the economy back to work for the middle class, to bringing affordable, quality healthcare to all Americans, to reducing our dependence on foreign oil, to bringing the war in Iraq to a responsible end.

I know how serious these issues are because I see their effects every day on Pennsylvania families.

But, I also know that we can and will meet these challenges with all of our creativity, our determination and our belief in the bright future ahead. Together, we will build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous country.
